so, how many more people have to die or become infected before we have real sex education and distribution of devices – such as condoms – that help prevent the spread of STDs. i’d say too many have died already. and considering HIV is a 100% preventable disease, i see no reason not to teach our children how to have the safest sex possible. i mean realistically, they’re going to do it eventually, so they may as well know how to protect themselves. denying real sex ed to our kids means more people are going to die senselessly.
it has been 25 years since the HIV virus was identified. my generation has lived with this for our entire sexually active adult lives, as will every generation that comes after us. we can hope for a cure, but in the meantime, we have to do everything we can to prevent this disease from spreading.
what will you do today? what will you do in the future? act now to prevent the spread of HIV.
