i got an email from the good folks at follow me to dc last night, in which they forwarded an email from one of the lovely trolls that’s infested this site recently. the troll said that FM2DC should delink me, and stupidly, the troll sent the email from the same IP address they used to post to this site.
get a clue guys. we are on to you. you can’t turn the campaign against me and you can’t turn me against the campaign.

fucking trolls. i can’t believe i have to actually make a post about this bullshit while i’m on vacation.
some shit-spewing troll who calls himself “HJ”, posting from the IP address of 129.54.8.45 (which resolves to Robins Air Force Base in Georgia, where I’m sure the commanders would love to know that the staff is sitting around posting to blogs), has launched a completely false, swiftboat style attack on david harris.
HJ accuses david harris of being under investigation for adultery, then insinuates that dave had an affair with an ROTC candidate. a simple google search reveals that not only is the accusation untrue, but HJ is a complete fucking idiot. candidate david harris of texas shares a moniker with murder victim david harris, who’s wife clara ran him over with her SUV multiple times when she caught him cheating on her. i’m sure many of you remember that infamous texas case from a few years back.
HJ is suck a fucking idiot that he didn’t bother to fact check. had “it” practised due diligence, he would have realised that a) the david harris he mentions is DEAD, b) the murdered david harris is about ten years older than the candidate david harris, and c) the murder victim’s middle initial is different than that of candidate harris.
this just reinforces my belief that the right wing is scared shitless by the fighting dems. we have a slate of strong veterans who can collectively smash the “democrats are weak on defense” myth, and the GOP and their minions will do anything to sully these vets. it’s the same tactic that they successfully employed against john kerry, who stupidly didn’t fight back against the bullshit charges levelled at him by the swift boat liars for bush. well i have news for you GOP pissants: the fighting dems aren’t going to take your shit. you can try to smear them, you can try to sully their good names, but by god we are going to fight back.
HJ, i am putting you on notice. i demand that you post irrefutable proof that there is indeed some sort of investigation ongoing against candidate harris. i want the approximate date the investigation started, i want the name of the investigating body, and i want you to name of the base where this ROTC candidate is supposedly stationed. you don’t even have to post it publicly. you can send it to me via email and i promise confidentiality. in fact, i will go so far to offer you a public apology if you can prove to me that your allegations are true.
unless you meet the criteria i’ve laid out, i am going to ban your ass. and not only am i going to ban you, i’ve got your IP logged, i’ve got your post times, and i’ve traced your ass right back to that desk you’re sitting behind. on top of that, i’ve got the name of your commanding officer at robins AFB. i’m sure he would be thrilled to know that one of his people is wasting our tax dollars posting lies about veterans. and if your CO won’t do anything about it, i have no problem working my way up the chain of command and making sure that you pay for that bullshit you are spewing. do not test me HJ. put up or shut up.

ok, we’re officially on vacation. while we’re going to try and avoid the computer while we’re away, we might pop by for an occassional post. we’ll be back in january.

Ford addressed and resolved each of our three concerns regarding the above:
1. Ford announced that it will continue to support gay organizations and gay events in the coming year and beyond.
2. Ford is going to run advertisements in the gay media NOT ONLY promoting the Jaguar and Land Rover brands, but the ads will promote ALL of Fords brands, by name, including Jaguar and Land Rover.
3. Ford states unequivocally that it will continue to tailor its ads for the specific audience it is trying to reach, and then goes one step further. Ford challenges us to keep an eye out on their upcoming ads in order to verify that they will in fact be tailored.
excellent. yall may resume buying fords now, especially those nifty escape hybrids.

update: ok, if you’re seeing this message, you are hitting the new web host. the dns change seems to have gone smoothly, and most everything is working as expected. now granted, i know there are some template bugs to work out here and there, so if you notice something acting wonky please leave a comment and let me know.

I sincerely wanted to post that headline yesterday after D/FW was blanketed with ice. We got an ice day, and rightfully so, as most folks around here absolutely cannot drive on it. Yall should have seen the lovely traffic-cam videos of people bouncing into each other like it was highway pinball or something.
As I said I was off work, but my stupid cable modem has been down for 4 days and counting, so I couldn’t post this in a timely manner. *sigh*
The Monkey is convinced that hell froze over because he’s graduating tomorrow. LOL
Anyway, I just wanted to give a heads up that this weekend I will be doing some server moves. I’m migrating my DNS service, then email, and perhaps the entire web site provided things go smoothly. So, if you can’t reach us this weekend, don’t fret. It’s scheduled downtime and we’ll be back ASAP.
